7th Annual Boston Palestine Film Festival, 10/18-10/27

The Boston Palestine Film Festival, co-presented with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, returns for its seventh year this fall. The festival runs from October 18-27, 2013. Apart from showcasing a diverse selection of 30 international films from Palestine and films relating to Palestine, the festival also features conversations with guest directors and others.

BOSTON/Boston Common - The Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition (MASSCANN) held it's annual celebration of "all things marijuana" this past Saturday, as thousands gathered on the Boston Common to smoke, listen to music and speeches, and rally support for the legalization of the drug.

Two people were arrested and charged with distributing pot and police issued slightly more than thirty citations for possession.

On October 24, Bostonians went down to Christopher Columbus Park on the waterfront to participate in mass street theater on the theme of "Boston Under Water." The idea of the event - being held in cities around the world - was to draw attention to the fact that unless we can keep CO2 levels at or below 350 parts per million, then global warming will accelerate and sea levels will rise.

BOSTON/North End - This month, the city of Boston invites art lovers to spend a long weekend in the North End experiencing the best of the Boston Arts Scene. Starting Friday, Sept. 11, the annual Boston Arts Festival will return to historic Christopher Columbus Park for a three-day celebration of local arts and entertainment. The event will feature work from over 60 visual artists and a number of scheduled musical and dance performances. The outdoor festivities will run each day from noon until 6 p.m.
