Please join us at a very special fundraising party on April 21.
We're hosting John Borsos and Paul Kumar, two long-time SEIU United Healthcare Workers-West staffers who are now with the National Union of
Healthcare Workers. NUHW is the new California union that was born after SEIU imposed a disastrous trusteeship on UHW, its third largest affiliate, in late January.
Since then, the NUHW has shown the makings of a principled and powerful, vibrant and democratic workers' movement. It has already been able to file representation petitions, covering more than 90,000 workers, with only volunteer organizers and rank-and-file support.
There has been considerable controversy and debate about the SEIU-UHW struggle. So this event is your chance to learn, first hand, what's happening in California health care. All friends of union democracy and reform are urged to attend for a lively and informative discussion. Please join us in providing much-needed financial support for building
this exciting new union.
