Russell Brand shot to fame in the U.S. in 2008 when he starred as “Aldous Snow” in the hit comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall.  Brand cemented his fame as host of the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards and then returned in 2009 reaching the biggest audience since 2004 with nearly 9 million viewers.  The same year saw the U.S. release of Brand’s autobiography, My Booky Wook, which made the New York Times bestseller list several weeks in a row.  Brand has won numerous stand-up awards including being named “Best Stand-Up” in 2006 by Time Out and additionally, the British Comedy Award for “Best Newcomer” in 2006 and “Best Live Stand-Up” in 2008. While touring the U.S., Brand recorded a Comedy Central special titled Russell Brand in New York airing in March of 2009.  Brand completed the year with a performance to over 20,000 people at the O2 Arena in London.
