Doug Benson’s stand-up comedy career began in Los Angeles in the 1980s while pursuing a career in acting after a friend dared him to perform at a comedy night. After a positive reaction from the audience, Benson began performing stand-up regularly and made his first television appearances in the late 1980s on shows such as Comedy Central’s Two Drink Minimum and The A-List. In 2008, Benson created his own documentary, titled Super High Me, which studied the effects of marijuana, similar to Morgan Spurlock’s study of McDonald’s effects in Super Size Me. Benson has two comedy CDs, Professional Humoredian and Unbalanced Load. He currently hosts a podcast, titled I Love Movies with Doug Benson.
