John Pizzarelli, a New Jersey-born jazz guitarist, vocalist and bandleader, has been playing guitar since the age of six, following in the footsteps of his father, Bucky Pizzarelli. Compared to the likes of Nat “King” Cole, Pizzarelli and his trio perform swinging interpretations of jazz standards, along with some of his own composition. With over twenty albums of his own and appearances on over forty others, Pizzarelli is about to celebrate the release of his new album, Tribute to Duke Ellington.
